Why this topic today

"What should I post?" and "How often should I post?" are the two most common questions agents ask me. Content consistency is the differentiator between agents who build authority and those who stay invisible. This A2 hub anchors 6 spokes about what to post, batching, content calendars, and building the habit. If you can show up daily with content that actually matters to your community, you become known before you're needed. And that changes everything.

I got a DM last week from an agent in Phoenix. She'd been licensed for four years. Closed maybe 11 deals a year. Solid but not spectacular. And her question was one I've heard probably 4,000 times at this point: "Krista, what am I supposed to post every day?"

My answer surprised her.

It doesn't matter nearly as much as you think it does. What matters is that you POST. Every. Single. Day. The content itself? You'll figure that out as you go. But you can't figure it out if you never start, and you can't build authority if nobody sees you more than once a month.

Here's what separates agents who become the Community Market Leader® in their area from agents who stay a commodity. It's not talent. It's not market knowledge. It's not even their closing skills. It's visibility. Repetition. Showing up so consistently that when someone thinks "real estate" they think YOUR name. That's the whole game.

And I want to be really clear about something. This isn't about being annoying or spammy. This is about serving your community with content that actually helps them. Serve don't sell. That philosophy is baked into everything I teach because it works and because the opposite... being a walking billboard for yourself... makes people run away from you.

Why Daily Content Beats Everything Else You're Doing

According to the NAR 2025 Profile of Home Buyers and Sellers, 88% of buyers used an agent. That's the good news. The bad news? They used AN agent. Not you specifically. And the reason they didn't use you is because they didn't know you existed, or if they did, they didn't think of you as the obvious choice.

Daily content fixes that.

When you show up in someone's feed every day for 90 days, something shifts in their brain. You go from "random agent" to "that agent I keep seeing" to "my agent" and they haven't even talked to you yet. That's what known before you're needed actually means in practice. It's not a slogan on a coffee mug. It's a strategy backed by how human psychology works.

I remember when I first started posting daily. I was terrified. I thought people would get annoyed, unfollow me, maybe even complain. You know what actually happened? My phone started ringing more. Not from the content directly (although some of it did). From the fact that I was top of mind. A neighbor mentions selling their house at a barbecue and the person they're talking to says "oh you should call Krista, I see her stuff all the time." That's how this works. It's not magic. It's math. More visibility equals more conversations equals more closings.

And this layers on top of everything else you're doing. Your broader marketing strategy, your paid ads, your email campaigns, your community events. Daily content is the connective tissue that ties all of it together. Someone sees your Facebook ad, then sees your organic post the next day, then gets your email, then sees you at a local event. That compounding effect is what makes you unbeatable.

The 5 Content Buckets You'll Rotate Through

I'm about to give you the framework I use with my coaching clients. This isn't complicated. Five categories. Rotate through them. You don't need to be creative. You need to be consistent.

1. Market Updates and Local Data

What's happening in your zip code right now? Homes sold last week, average days on market, price changes, interest rate shifts. You don't need to be an economist. Just report what's happening and add your take. "3 homes sold in Roseville this week between $485K and $520K, and here's what that means if you're thinking about selling in the next 6 months."

Quick 60-second video or a carousel post with the numbers. Done.

2. Community Spotlight Content

This is the stuff that makes you the mayor of your market. Feature local businesses, parks, school events, restaurant openings, charity drives. When you become the person who celebrates your community, the community celebrates you back. I've seen agents get more listing appointments from a post about a new taco shop opening than from a month of cold calls. (Not that a taco shop post replaces your other marketing channels. It adds to them. The agent who does community content AND runs smart paid campaigns is unstoppable.)

If you want to go deep on this, read about becoming the go-to agent in your town. It's the playbook for owning your area.

3. Tips, Education, and How-To Content

First-time buyer tips. How to prep a home for sale. What to expect during an inspection. Mortgage rate explained in plain English. This is where you demonstrate that you actually know what you're doing without bragging about it. You're teaching. And teaching builds trust faster than any sales pitch.

A lot of agents tell me they feel weird "giving away" information for free. Good. Give it all away. The people who consume your content and then try to do everything themselves were never going to hire you anyway. The ones who consume your content and think "wow, she really knows her stuff" are the ones who call you.

4. Behind-the-Scenes and Day-in-the-Life

Show the real work. Walk through a staging. Film yourself writing an offer at 9pm (we've all been there). Share a funny inspection story. This content humanizes you. And here's the thing nobody talks about... it's the EASIEST content to make because it's just your real life. No scripting needed.

I filmed a video once of me sitting in my car eating a granola bar between showings, talking about how the last buyer changed their mind and we had to pivot the whole search. Nothing fancy. One take. That video outperformed my "professional" content by 4x. People want real.

5. Social Proof and Results

Closed a deal? Share it (with permission). Got a testimonial? Post it. Just helped a family find their dream home? Tell that story. This isn't bragging. This is evidence. And evidence is what turns "I should call an agent" into "I should call THAT agent."

How to Actually Do This Every Day Without Losing Your Mind

Okay so five buckets sounds manageable in theory. But I know what you're thinking. "Krista, I barely have time to eat lunch, how am I going to create content every day?"

I hear you. And I used to have the same problem until I figured out batching.

Here's my rule: one piece of content a day. That's the minimum. Some days it's a 30-second video on your phone. Some days it's a photo with a caption. Some days it's a market stat with your commentary. It doesn't have to be long. It doesn't have to be polished. It has to exist.

And if you batch your content... pick one morning a week, film 4 or 5 videos, write out your captions, schedule everything... the daily posting takes care of itself. I wrote a whole article about how to build a content calendar that runs itself if you want the step-by-step. It's a game changer for agents who feel overwhelmed by the idea of daily posting.

The biggest mindset shift? Consistency beats perfection. Always. I'd rather you post a mediocre video every day for 90 days than post one "perfect" video and then disappear for three weeks. The algorithm doesn't reward perfection. It rewards showing up. And your audience doesn't need perfection from you either. They need to see you. Repeatedly. So when the moment comes and they need an agent, your face is the one that pops into their head.

If building the daily habit is where you struggle, go read about creating a content habit that sticks. That article breaks down the psychology of habit formation specifically for agents.

The Timing and Platform Question

People overthink this. I see agents spend two weeks researching the "best time to post on Instagram" instead of just... posting.

My general guidance: post when your audience is awake and scrolling. For most real estate markets, that's early morning (6 to 8am), lunch (11:30am to 1pm), and evening (7 to 9pm). Test all three for a couple weeks and see what gets more engagement for YOUR audience. Every market is different.

As for platforms, you don't need to be everywhere. Pick two. Get good at two. For most agents in 2026, that's Instagram and Facebook. YouTube if you like longer video. TikTok if your market skews younger. But two is enough to start.

I have a full breakdown on when, where, and how often to post that goes deep on platform-specific strategies. Read that after you've committed to the daily habit.

I shot a video called "Double Your Leads: Daily Video Strategy!" that walks through exactly how daily video content translates to actual leads in your pipeline. It's worth 15 minutes of your time if you're serious about this.

What Most Agents Get Wrong

They try to be someone they're not on camera. They use a weird "professional voice." They overthink every word. They edit for three hours. Then they post once and wait for the phone to ring and when it doesn't ring after 48 hours they decide "content doesn't work" and go back to cold calling strangers from a purchased list.

That's the old way. And it's a miserable way to build a business.

The new way? Top producer equals top marketer. The agents closing 40, 50, 80 deals a year aren't necessarily better at negotiating than you. They're better at being SEEN. They show up daily, they provide value, they stay in front of their community, and when someone needs to sell a house, those agents are the obvious choice because they've been building authority for months or years.

You don't earn that authority in a week. You earn it through the accumulation of hundreds of small touches. A market update here. A community spotlight there. A behind-the-scenes video. A client success story. Over and over. Day after day. Until you're not just another agent. You're THE agent.

And that's what it means to build a real personal brand with authority. Not a logo. Not a tagline. Not a fancy headshot. A body of content that proves you know your market, you care about your community, and you're really good at what you do.

Start Today. Not Monday.

I know the temptation. "I'll start my daily content plan on Monday." Then Monday comes and you're busy with a showing. Then "next Monday" and then it's three months later and you still haven't posted anything.

Pick up your phone right now. Film a 30-second video about something happening in your market this week. Post it. Caption it. Done. That's day one.

Tomorrow, do it again. And the day after that. By day 30, you won't even think about it anymore. It'll be automatic. And by day 90, people in your market will start saying "I see you everywhere."

That's when you know it's working.
